Best Techniques for Cleaning Grill Grates
BBQ grilles can be cleaned with various household chemicals or folk remedies. Soda, vinegar, and soot are used to remove the fat layer and soot. The barbecue grate or skewer can be put into the growing grass at night to wash the dew. Mangal can be cleaned with a metal brush.
Mechanical cleaning method
The easiest way available is to clean the barbecue grate with a metal dishwasher. Having wetted the brush with water, the battle of the mistress against burning begins. To enhance the effect, a detergent is added.
Warning! Before using any chemistry, read the instructions to use it correctly and not to get hurt.
Household Chemistry: weapons against heavy contamination
Conventional detergents such as Fairy, AOS or Gala can clean light soiling or only a small fraction of all dirt. It is better to buy a strong gel or spray: Amway, Top House, Magic Power, Dr.Beckmann, Cif or Schumanite.
The advantages of such means are efficiency and time-saving. The downside is the cost of the most detergent.
After washing with chemistry, the grid should be very well washed in clean water, if you do not want to “please” their friends with meat with the scent of detergent and intestinal problems.
Methods of cleaning without household chemicals
Vinegar
Everyone knows acetic acid is excellent for cleaning fat not only from the grate but also from the home kettle and even from the wallpaper.
Take the container with the sprayer and mix vinegar and water in it at a ratio of one to one. Spray well on the surface with the resulting mixture and leave for a few minutes.
For a better effect, you can take aluminum foil, crumple it and clean the skewer well by periodically soaking in the vinegar. Once all the ash and soot has been removed, it will remain well washed under running water.
Deep cleaning with soda and vinegar
If there is still plenty of time left before departure, you can clean up with vinegar soda.
Fold all the skewers or grilles into the most ordinary plastic bag and pour the mixture of one glass of vinegar and the same amount of soda. Once everything is ready, tie the bag tightly and leave it for a couple of hours, or better yet overnight. In the morning, you just have to wipe with a wet sponge.
Coca-Cola
This drink is used not only to quench thirst but also to clean all sorts of surfaces: to clean soot from burnt pots and even remove limescale from the showerhead. It is also ideal for removing rust and dirt.
Fold in a large plastic container or bag for cooking kebabs. Shake the coke well, pour it into the container and leave for 12-15 minutes. When the time has elapsed, check to see if the dirt can be wiped off, if not, leave it for a few more minutes. In the end, it will be left to wipe well with a dishwasher and rinse with water.
Ammonia Solution
This procedure will require a large dense bag and several bottles of ammonia.
Fold all the accessories in a bag and pour the ammonia inside. Remove all air before tying the cellophane. Shake a little so that the ammonia covers the whole surface and leave it overnight. Wash the grille well in the morning.
